Brent Chancellor is a composer, conductor, and electronic musician whose work encompasses the classical and operatic performance repertoire, as well as contemporary and avante guard music, sound-installation, experimental jazz, African drumming, music for film and improvised noise.
Performances have taken him to the Festival of New American Music, Festival of the Arts, Center for Contemporary Arts, International Vocal Arts Institute (Israel), Canadian Vocal Arts Institute (Montreal), Museum of Modern Art Tel Aviv, Sacramento Film Festival, Staten Island Film Festival, Long Island Film Festival, Florida Film Festival and Hawaii Film Festival.
As a conductor, Brent has served as assistant to Maestro Paul Nadler (Metropolitan Opera) for productions of La Traviata (2009), The Rake's Progress (2009), Don Pasquale (2008) and Lucia di Lammermoor (2008) at IVAI. He is currently an assistant conductor for Astoria Symphony in New York.
