NJ Festival Orchestra’s 2015-2016 season opens dramatically with three life-affirming works, wildly swinging from student drinking songs in the Academic Festival Overture to the epic yet triumphant majesty of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth. Sparkling in between is a world premiere of Gershwin’s familiar Rhapsody in Blue with brand new chorus complementing the symphonic and solo piano forces. Featured soloist is the internationally acclaimed, award-winning pianist and composer Michael Fennelly.
