Brent Chancellor Makes New Jersey Ballet Debut

Conductor Brent Chancellor makes his New Jersey Ballet debut leading performances of The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. One of the most iconic and cherished works in the ballet repertoire, The Nutcracker brings together Tchaikovsky’s richly melodic score with the magic and spectacle of classical dance, making it a perennial holiday tradition for audiences of all ages.

Stepping in for Constantine Kitsopoulos, Chancellor led the New Jersey Symphony in performances that balanced theatrical energy with musical refinement, shaping the score’s iconic moments with warmth, precision, and lyricism. From the shimmering “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” to the grandeur of the “Waltz of the Flowers,” Artistic Director, Maria Kowroski showcased the color and emotional depth of Tchaikovsky’s music and New Jersey Ballet’s iconic choreography.
