Brent Chancellor will appear as a featured composer at the Festival of New American Music, for the premiere of his composition Vestiges as part of the festival’s celebration of innovative contemporary music.
Vestiges is scored for amplified flutes and cellos and explores the evolving sonic language of 20th-century experimental music. Drawing inspiration from the textural techniques of Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki, the work blends harmonics, glissandi, tremolos, and extended instrumental effects into a large-scale atmospheric soundscape.
